Making Rode PG2-R Pro cable
« on: December 15, 2022, 12:33:05 PM »
Hi all.  :)
I recently purchased a Rode PG2-R Pistol Grip for my AT822 microphone.

- https://rode.com/en/accessories/adaptors-cables/pg2-r-pro-cable

However, to make my own PG2-R Pro cable, I purchased Cable Techniques Low-Profile Right-Angle XLR 3-Pin Female Connector and Switchcraft AAA Series 3-Pin XLR Male Cable-Mount Connector.

- https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/929685-REG/switchcraft_aaa3mbauz_aaa_series_3_pin_xlr.html

Now, Should I connect the two XLR connectors as shown in the attached picture?
Your input would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes. Pin 1 to pin 1 and so on. Be aware - as shown in the pic - that the location of pins 1 and 2 are usually reversed on male vs female connectors.
