Why would you keep using a faulty battery box that has killed over half a dozen recorders? That's not Sony's problem that's you. 
It literally took YEARS to diagnose the problem. That "faulty" battery box never gave even a hint of a problem with the PCM-M10, or the Roland R-05 and R-07. It's only this new generation of PCM recorders that all seem to use the same chipset that has an oversensitive, flimsy line input.
