From the Roland Website:
"The R-07 is compatible with Alkaline (AA, LR6) x 2 and rechargeable Ni-MH (AA, HR6) x 2 battery types.
Note: Lithium batteries behave differently than other kinds of batteries and are not compatible with these recorders.
Lithiums constantly have varying voltage effects and voltage levels."
My Roland turns on with Alkaline batteries.
It won't turn on with Ni-MH.
I checked the voltage and these fully charged Ni-MH batteries and they had a higher reading than the Alkaline (about 1.36v, with the R-07 showing about 80% battery life left).
I tried Energizer and Amazon brands right after fully charging them.
Roland has a setting to select from Alkaline or NiMH. I tried both settings and problem is still there.
The batteries work in other products.
Anyone have any luck with rechargeables in their R-07?
Was thinking to get the Lithium Rechargeable. Would they work?
Roland says that:
"Lithiums constantly have varying voltage effects and voltage levels.
The results introduce the possibility of the Low Battery message not appearing when needed and,
in worse case scenarios, losing power without warning--recorded data may be lost in this case."
I'm ok if that is the only issue using the Lithiums, because my recordings are no longer than 2 hrs a day and I would always charge before before a show.
Is there any other issue in using Litthium with the R-07? I don't want to spend money on them if they will not work.
