Agreed with the others on the suggestion of replacing your current PS-2 + recorder rig with a Zoom F3.
Although not exactly what you asked about that's likely the right answer, making for a simpler rig with no interconnects needed and only one device to power.
Gutbucket, will the signal be balanced if you go Professional mics with XLRS into Zoom F3 as oppose to same mics into a Den PS-2 with mini plug out -> recorder?
If yes then this is another strong reason to go with the F3 I guess?
Yes, but in practice it won't matter much because the signal will be balanced all the way to the denecke as well, so the only interference risk is from the power supply to the recorder.
But as soon as you go mini plug out from the PS-2 the signals become unbalanced, no?
