Good ORTF clip for MKH40 pair?
« on: April 02, 2024, 02:09:15 PM »
Hi All. I was looking to get a dedicated ORTF clip for my MKH40s. I found the one below which is a bit pricey. Any other ones on there? I tried setting it up on the rycote stereo bar but the MKH40s are too long to set up as ORTF without the bodies getting in the way.

The Shapeways mounts aren't very expensive compared to brand name accessories for mics that cost in the thousands but I totally understand wanting to save money where you can.

You could try using a spacer under one of your mounts to elevate it so you can cross the mics without them interfering with each other. Like this - https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/QK2B--on-stage-stands-qk-2b-quik-release-mic-adapter-black-single

SD Mixpre6 || Oade Concert Mod DR100mkii

You're probably right. I lost one of my MKH 40 clips and, since a new one costs $36 I thought I'd just put the money into the shapeways mount since I mostly record in ORTF with those. Thanks for the input!
