Anyone Willing To Share iZotope RX Advanced
« on: August 28, 2024, 07:56:49 AM »
Hello,

I recently started using RX 10 and found it much better the Sound Forge and have been using for quite awhile. Recently I did a trial with RX 11 Advanced and was successful using the Spectrum Repair for several of my recordings. With the price being $1200, I was wondering if anyone would be open to sharing a copy with me or possibly going halfies with me?

Spectral Repair is available in RX11 standard as well.  You may have luck finding someone selling a license in the KVR forums, or watch for a sale on one of the bundles that includes ozone and rx.

Sharing, or going "halfies", is a clear violation of the EULA. I assume the Forum rules have something to say about solicitation of pirated and cracked software...

If I remember right, the only advantage to advanced is the de-wind module. Standard should have everything else needed for our purposes and just to add de-wind is not worth the price difference, at least in my opinion.

They have 50% off sales all the time and as grawk said bundles can be a good way to go also.

What exactly is new or better with RX11 over RX10?

Oh yes! It goes to 11!!!

But seriously, for "our purposes" the standard version does us well. As far as Izotope goes, they are able to see what machines have their software installed on. Asking to "share" the most recent is gonna screw things up.

Just as an aside to this discussion, I've been buying and upgrading RX since version 7. I've been wondering if I can give a friend one of my RX7 auths (I'm on a 10 purchased now) to introduce him to the advantages over what he's using now.

Doubtful, I've been using it less than legal for a few years and never had issues.

You can. You do it through their product portal.

Most companies will not allow that, as you will have used that product to provide upgrade pricing.

RX Elements is regularly on sale, and offers enough tools for the beginner and introduces you to the interface and workflow. This also unlocks upgrade pricing if you want to delve deeper in to the higher tiers.

Izotope does allow it, or at least they did.  I've done it.  You just do it through the product portal.

Magix also bundles Sound Forge with Samplitude.  I have it from the Samplitude X3 version I have currently installed, but have never actually used Sound Forge on that machine. I've occasionally used Samplitude's Cleaning & Restoration Suite which has been available since Samp 8 or 9.. which about as long as RX, and it includes spectral repair and a lot of other similar RX type tools.

Anyone here use both? Curious about insights into the effectiveness of the tools in Samp's Cleaning & Restoration Suite verses those in Izotope RX.

Most online reviews say that RX11 is not much of an improvement over RX10 and it's not worth the money.
I watched a video highlighting the difference, and the only thing that even looked interesting was to be able to view/edit the spectrogram in mid/side mode.

I tried it out hoping that a small bug I found in editing has been fixed, and was disappointed to find that it has not been. I can't even find a way to tell anyone about the bug - online reports say the support email is no longer working, and I couldn't find any reporting forms. Some speculation that the company is not really putting any more effort into improving the program.

Spectralayers Pro 11, however, seems to be a large improvement over 10, and looks like it may be a good replacement / alternative for RX.
