Hello all,
I'm curious as to what the AKG community uses for mounting their mics. Assuming you use a shockmount of some type, what do you put them on? AKG t-bar? Shure bar? Some sort of horizontal bar like the Superlux MA-90/Grace Spacebar, or a cheaper alternative? I'd really like a small version of one of those, so I can try various config's based upon the venue/my location within the venue. Also, so I won't have to figure out the spacing/angles every time I set up.
What do you guys use? Ted?

For shockmounts I use the Rycote InVision series for everything now.
I have both the Grace SpaceBar and the Shure one pictured above.
But Rycote are just releasing an affordable stereo bar with angles and distances marked - but it's too new to be on their website yet.

When I had my 480's, I used a shure vert bar w/ AT 8415 shocks w/ the upgraded K-Tek 4-point mounts, and LOVED that setup :)

HATE the vert bar.

I use some generic T-bar, with a riser on one side. I drilled an extra pair of holes in the T-bar to give me the spacing I wanted. I use AKG's standard mic clips, not shock mounts, and I've never had an instance of a low frequency thump coming through because I didn't use shocks. My bag is so stuffed with gear, that the extra space taken up by shock mounts versus clips means I couldn't fit it all in there.
Picture half way down this thread.

I setup my 460s on a swivel T bar with two different height clips (a tall AKG one and a cheapo shorter one)
There's a pic of it on a clamp in this thread here http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=126064.msg1813400#msg1813400 (http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=126064.msg1813400#msg1813400)

Vert Bar with either Shure Donuts or a set of A20 knockoffs (forgot the brand)
-
I use the AKG adjustable t-bar, which is also available from K&M, the Shure A53M donut shocks, with a small riser under one of them for DIN/ORTF setups.

- Thanks John, a new Rycote bar with angles and distances :hmmm: Intriguing... Looking forward to seeing these, hope they could help speed up ORTF setup and are friendly with InVision 7 shocks.

A61 swivels for the win!
