To me, part of the fun of new gear is customizing. These were made from StarQuad mini.
Thanks to someone(?) here for advice on the Amphenols.
Most challenging part of the xlr's is stuffing the cable through the hole & soldering with the insert in place.
I think that supports the cable better than a notch (and takes about 4 times as long!) ;D

what's amphenol?
edit:nevermind, i see they make parts like neutrik. but what's the advantage over neutrik?
-
appears that the only amphenol connectors used are the RA 1/4 TRS; I don't recall ever seeing any neutrik in that size but then I've never gone looking for any

If you chop the "chuck" type neutriks, there's not much to hold the connector together.
The Amphenol is a fairly well made gold plated plug that's easy to chop; not very expensive either.

Pretty sweet. I wish I had the tools to give that a try. Looks like fun.

They flair out so you have a better grip for pulling out of the inputs and a bigger diameter for filling with the hot glue.

True, true!
I know there've been issues with 'em.
