that bass sounds marvelous on my 580s

I love the phantom powered 853s because roll-off is never needed, they just have an affinity for being right on.

Yeah, there were tons of recs in the playback forum for them.  I wanted something open, they looked nice, and the price was right.  And I have yet to be disappointed!

Marc that sounds great! Even on my crappy work speakers. Nice work!

I have the CMC-8's. Ear mounted. My favorite and most used stealth mics.I've also used them as hanging mics and have taped the to walls and poles.. So stealty that I've had conversations with security numerous times and they still don't see them on my ears just under my hair; no hat, no glasses either.

Suggest these settings.... 9volt battery box with stereo adjustment knob, have the sound adjustment on M1 set at max 10 and adjust levels to -12dbs using the knob on the battery box, have the mic atten switch 'on' the M1, record Line In always for music - I ran into distorition even with an acoustic set using the Mic In. Finally, I've never needed a bass roll off option on my battery box for these mics. I've also haven't need to preamp built in option either on the battery box. These cariods do a good job filtering out noises from behind and the sides so try to keep the mics still or stationary for an even sound.

the mic pad on the M1 has no effect going "line-in". it's a pad only for the mic-in.

really?  ???

I've only used the mic attn off a couple of times using the Line-In and in those 2-3 times I got constant distortion for some reason. Have't had a problem since I've been using the mic attn. Also, I seem to get less crowd noise with the mic attn while taping Line-In. Must be my imagination.  :P Makes sense though hense the name 'mic' attn
