I'm wondering if any of you know of an app I can use to have my Android phone stop the music player when I turn the power off (power coming from cigarette lighter socket) after I turn the key and have it start playing again when I apply power (start the car with the key?) I had an old iPod I could make do this. I always left it in the car hooked up to the cigarette lighter and with the 1/8" connected to the AUX input on my car stereo. I can't find a way to do it with an old android phone though. My old car doesn't have Bluetooth, because I know that it's possible to do it that way. Any ideas?

So you want the phone to stop playing music when it's not charging and then start again when the phone detects the car is charging the phone again?
I suppose that's possible, but I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
I can see how that would be useful for older cars though.
I think maybe a better solution might be a bluetooth receiver with a line out.

You should be able to do this with Tasker https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm&hl=en)
Learning curve is a bit steep - but it is one of the most useful apps ever.
