Topic: iRiver h120's on ebay... advice/tips/warnings

not sure which forum this should go in, so mods feel free to move it...

i am contemplating getting an iRiver h120... i would preferrable like to just trade my never been out of the house JB3 with 2 batteries for one, but since that might be a harder thing to accomplish, i figured i would go the ebay route.

i assume most of you folks with the iRivers got them via eBay... and it seems that outletmp3 is pimping most of them (at least the NIB).  who has any experience with this seller (or another) and was there any issues.  i checked the fb and there seemed to be some mentions of the irivers as grey market.... again... anyone confirm this... are there any discrepancies b/w the listing and the actual item... i hear all this talk of the 120d korean version... anything to be concerned with.

anyways, comments are welcome... feeling it out for now...

Got mine from outletmp3, actually the korean 120D...no discrepancies between listing and actual item, was brand new in perfect condition. I'd buy from them with no fear.
I didn't need to contact them for nothing, so I don't know how the customer support is, but reading forums, seems the guys are fast solving problems and reliable.
My unit got stuck some days (after press buttons), but once I found a rockbox stable version, all went more than fine, not a single problem.

Short version:

I had some problems with emilyandlily who sell a lot of these units, bought a UK model, from the UK, and it arrived as a US model, from the US. Sent it back, received an H120D model (again, not a UYK power supply), actually left them negative feedback..

Unit itself seems fine, used it for the first time taping last night.

Bought a 140 w/remote from outlet mp3 not too long ago.  When it arrived without the remote I sent them an email and they were very responsive. I got the remote in less than a week. Not bad considering I'm in Canada (they're in Cali, I believe).

The one I bought was listed through Amazon "Z-shops" so it gave me a bit more confidence, after reading about a lot of problems with emilyandlilly and outletMP3. I don't see anymore listed on Amazon through him, but they responded to all my emails very promptly. I ordered the item on Sunday, it was here on Friday, and definitely in "new" condition. Box wasn't sealed, but the sticker was still on the face of the unit. It was a Korean unit, and he through in a korean/US AC adapter for free in the box, which was a nice touch.
