so in fact Dyna-lite is  the same as Bogen

I've gotten gear from places that shipped competitors manuals because it was just a generic knock off before. In my experince, I've seen it happen with re-branding efforts (mfg A makes the product, and B and C just buy A's supply and put their sticker on it).

I did some checking, Dynalite is a light stand maker from New Jersey, and neither them, nor their parent company appear to be owned by Vitek (who owns Bogen, Manfroto, and Avenger who all make tons of gear we use). Dynalite even manufactures their stuff here in America. This (stand) may have been a result of re-branding transition or a run on supply so they picked up a competitors stock to fill an order.

So while the stands 5001B from Manfroto and the 0470 from Dynalite may function and visually look the same (and for all practical purposes are the same as you note in your third post), I think they are just knock offs of each other. It happens, no worries, the chop discussion is valid for all generic "fob stands" that have the leg connectors on the top like this. I only bring this up since it seems you are really insistant on proving a bogen/dynalite link, and I can't find any evidence to support that.
"This is a common practice we have on the bus; debating facts that we could easily find through printed material. It's like, how far is it today? I think it's four hours, and someone else comes in at 11 hours, and well, then we'll... just... talk about it..." - Jeb Puryear

Thanx  for your insight Page...

The reson I have posted this a number of times - is that when I bought this stand in like 2005 from B&H photo- I swear that it stated  that in fact the stand was manufactured by Bogen- however that was 5 years ago.
Also I have not used my time to research any connection of the companies...
you could very well be right.

I hear what you are saying- may be it's a knock off- but side by side comparison leads to the fact it is the same stand- and the sticker on the stand I have clearly states: "Made In Italy"
may be that's some place in New Jersey-- Italy NJ ? don't know

I'm not sure why it would state made in italy - and come with manfrotto  user info- however
if you and others insist
- I'm full of it- so be it.

all I am saying is that I remember that 5 years ago the B&H site stated it was made by Bogen-
doesn't matter - except - some folks don't believe my memory
that's fine too-

as like you said the actual chopping of the stand is valid.

Hopefully it has helped the folks that have viewed it- as that was the reason I posted it-
not to try to prove that dyna-lite - has - or has not - any connection to Bogen.

I choose to look at the merit of posts rather than disputing trival things, and try to be constructive- rather than destructive...
