do those guns work w/ the 480 bodies?

99% sure they don't work with the 480's.

I do know they are made for the 451's. & will fit & work on the 460's with the added adapter.

T+ for a very nice score! They look to be in great shape.

where would one find the adaptor? thanks for all the responces. Basically before I got my rig and stuff, this guy let me borrow these to mess around with. they each came with the individual phantom power boxes that ran with batteries and then ran 1/8 cable into my m1. at some show, I was using them, and one of the channels wasnt working as it should, I assumed one of the mics were fd up. I kinda set them aside and forgot ab00t them. earlier today, I tried them with my v3, and both channels ran fine. I havnt seen the guy bassically since he let me borrow them, hopefully Ill see him one of these days.
Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

From looking at the pic, it would appear you already have the adapter (A60M reducing ring).

If not, they are still available from AKG, but they don't have many left.

how much are they (a60m) ?

When I got mine they were about $70 each with tax and all (new old stock).  I think they had some "refurbs" or something for $50-ish a while back.  Check AKG's website - they might still be there.  It's not exactly a high demand part...

do you guys sleep?

actually i'm trying to get an akg rig going for those times i record in "dives" and dont want to risk getting my mg setup ruined in the process.   :P

in all seriousness though, im really intrigued with the 460 series, not so much with the 480s.
eventually i want to run ck1/2/3x > mk46 > jw mod c460b.  i'll need some luck to find the mk46 cables and caps and probably have to sell the v3 to fascilitate the upgrade.
I honestly think the mod 460s are *comparable* to dpas in many ways.  not as good, but damn close, for a lot cheaper investment.  i cant afford a set of dpas, so im thinking these are the next best thing, with interchangable caps ta boot.

really? i think mod460's and 480's sounds damn identical/close!

mod460 has much much better midrange IMO & I was a HUGE fan of the 480's.

Im really excited to run these akg cards at the brewery with the sweet set up spot!

whats the best place for shotguns? I was thinking best in outdoors about 75 plus feet away from the stage. what about 10 feet from stage in a bar  >:D

so you think that's a better technique than regular DIN or something like that?
