DPA 4061 short vs long grids?
« on: May 22, 2008, 10:45:04 PM »
Well, the good news is my used DPA 4061's arrived. The bad news is, one has a short grid, the other has the longer grid.

I want to avoid paying $76-80 plus shipping to Canada for a box of 5 short grids, which would work out to around $20 each!

Would it be possible to trim the longer grid back? I.e. is the only difference between them the length of the tubular part, or is there more to this?

Anybody have a spair short grid they'll part with, for a few dollars?

Thanks for any suggestions.

P.S. I suppose i could just apply EQ after the fact, to one channel of my recordings, but that seems unnecessary.
