Title: AD-20 battery question
Post by: phishmarisol on May 04, 2004, 07:39:20 PM
Stiiiiiiiil waiting for some cables...in the meantime...when I put the batt in I get no indication that it is on.  I don't think I will get one but just wondering if I am doing this right.  I just put a 9 volt where it goes.  I don't need any kind of connectors for it right?

The red light only comes on if you're low on power.  Take off the optical cap.  If there's a red light under there it's on. ;D

do yourself a favor and make a 9.6 v RC battery pack for your AD-20,  it will go over 14 hours on single charge (thats with a cheep one) and will pay for itself in no time,  disposible 9v battery cost adds up and is bad for the enviorment.

Just bought a mod ad20 and plan on doing the same.  Will probably make up a RC plug to 9v snap (so I can use the RC battery to replace either one)

I run my AD-20 and PS-2 with a 9.6v Makita drill battery. I used that because I already have a couple of them and a charger (all came with the drill). I just made a little harness out of the caps the batteries ship with. I split that out to two of those RC battery repair kit connectors which connect to two mini mono plugs for the Deneckes. Works very well. I haven't run for more than about four hours, but it was all still going strong at that point.

what is the +/- arrangment on the DC in on the AD-20?
is it - ---Co--- +
or +----Co---- -  ?

Just curious.  I have a setup that can take two SLA batts that are 9.6 volts and are 3000mAh.  Should last a long, long time powering the PS-2 and AD-20.

Not sure what that pic is supposed to be, but it is miniplug tip positive...

then it is the first of the two drawing, which is standard.  Thanks.  I can used the same battery cable from the UA-5, just by using a different tip from the universal adaptor kit.

a regular mini-plug doesn't fit in there.  more like a 1/4 inch plug?
