Maggie MG12's
« on: August 05, 2006, 02:57:44 PM »
So, I need an opinion (or two)...  My dad is trying to reduce his second playback system, and he wants to unload his Maggie 12's because they're a bit big for the room he has them in.  They're about 6 years old, but in pristine shape - maybe used 2 hours a week.  He's always taken really good care of them, and knowing him the original boxes are in the attic.  So his deal to me was for me to buy a pair of the MMG's and then switch.  I figure it's about $625 for those after shipping now, and the MG12s run under $1000 new, so the deal seems good but not great.  What's the going rate on a pair of MG12s?

I'd be putting them in front of an Audio Research D-120.  Deal or no deal?

Thanks!

According to the Magnepan website, they're still $550 shipped.  Or, you may buy mine for less:)

Ah, I was remembering it as $550 + shipping.  So that makes it better...
