VU meters for UA5/JB3

can anyone give me good tips on a VU meter for my UA5/Jb3 setup??  any help would be appreciated... or even how to mod your ua5 so it has an "inbuilt" VU meter.

I've heard of a guy that does a VU mod for the top of the UA-5. Except, supposedly it costs over $200. No way would I pay $200 for some cool looking lights though. BTW, there is a good thread on the Oade board about the VU. As well as this board... search VU I think.

Nick G. worked up a DIY version of VUs on a UA-5.  Go to www.nickspicks.com and scroll to the very bottom of the first page and follow the "Adding metering lights" link.

I do think taping is the reality of the business..it is also an impetus for artists to create studio CDs that are ART, not just another recording...    Fareed Haque  2-4-2005
