Multi-channel computer playback options?
« on: July 22, 2009, 05:03:18 PM »
Been doing more multi-channel surround recording.  I can playback my multi-channel projects from the DAW, but I need to look into a more convenient method for ordinary/casual listening, probably creating multi-channel FLACs and using foobar or winamp from a HTPC with a multi-channel audio card for output.  I think they can handle multi-channel files.  I'd love to set up a networked media interface like a sqeezebox, the WD box or an equivalent, but those are stereo only except for Dolby/DTS pass-through.  Though I plan on eventually looking into encoding DTS files I first need a direct playback option and to figure out the foobar/winamp part.

Advice or suggestions on where look for info on this?
