No they are not going to be expensive - certainly no more expensive than the equivalent Schoeps and considerably cheaper than the current MKH symmetrical capsule range.
But isn't Neumann a Sennheiser company? With this new line, esp with the interchangeable capsules and remote capsule to mic body cabling, these new Senns seem to really overlap the Neumann km100 series.
How does Sennheiser position their mics to Neumanns? Is the neumann line the less expensive line and the Sennheiser the more expensive, higher-end line (or vice versa)? Or do they expect the neumann line and sennheiser line to totally overlap? I've always wondered this, and never really understood their business model. Seems like from a business perspective, one should be the Cadillac and one should be the Saturn line, but it's hard to see that either Senns or Neumanns are being positioned to be the low-cost, budget line.
