Huh.  That's odd.  What's the serial no?  Only the first handful were supposedly calibrated incorrectly.  Check the Sonic Sense website for the write-up, but the serial nos are: V3001 - V3035.  Some also had a DC offset, too, so you may want to test for that as well.  Search the Oade archives for "DC offest"  - there's a large thread about the subject, with Mike Grace chiming in a couple times.

FWIW, I believe Grace will resolve both problems quickly for free if you ship it back to them (at least they did for me, 1 day turnaround).

im basically just testing batt life at this point...im doing ONE show at jmp w/ it the way it is outta the factory, so ill be doing that w/ in 2 weeks!!! thanks for the heads up tho brian, i didnt know about the dc offset....

i cant take a look at the waves because i sold my soundcard, so im w/out one till iget an audiophile 2496 in a few weeks!! 8)

also, im not bitching, but didnt these just come from the factory??? i thought they tested these beforehand?? ???i dont really care, id rather have them check it out.....just curious!!!

You got a final check list print out sheet, didn't you?
It has a bunch of final tests signed off by Grace. This should tell you the particulars of the unit.

would it be under meter calibration??? both channels passed, but i think thats just for the levels, right???

I'll break mine out Bean, I don't remeber. I just remember a bunch of stats and checks.. I thought that there might have been a voltage calibration (??).

no voltage calibration :P....i prolly wouldnt have thought about it, but phil emailed me and gave me the heads up!!so im just testing anyway cause its a new piece of gear, plus, my deck needs fixed anyway, so i might as well grind it a lil :P(i know, i know) ::)

BTW, its been going 6+ hrs strong.......also, i forgot to mention ANSR IS on, and FS is 48k!!

Wow, I only get around ~6 hrs Schoeps > V3 on my 7AH SLA.  Must be something to this Eco-Charge thing after all.   ::)  You must be running right at the low end of Grace's published current draw range of 750-1,000 mA.  Me, I seem to be running at the top of the range.  Huh...

have you let it discharge tho???

i did, and the lowbatt light came on at about 5-5.5 hrs...however, i checked at 9 hrs 45 mins, then forgot and passed out, so thats still 9 hrs safely!!!maybe even 10 8)

kinda funny isnt it??? ;)not really THAT low of a light indicator!! ;Dbut yeah, mine came on about 5 hrs w/ just the v3 on, and it lasted about 10 hrs!!!

also, to better recreate a show, i turn it off after it would be about an average set because i believe more juice is used when power is turned on, correct???and this si how i would actually do it at a show!! and i still kept going.... 8)

phil told me our v3's were calibrated to 5.9v instead of 5.75,a nd im testing them out now
Bean-
What was miscalibrated on a last batch of V3s was when the low battery indicator light came on, not when the voltage fell below 5.75!  The auto-shut off, which is what you are referring to is calibrated correctly.
There were 3 noted, but i have contacted Grace and they recalibrated their calibrator :)

the V3 should shut off when the voltage is at 5.2
