Title: Cut the copper trace
Post by: bagtagsell on November 25, 2003, 03:48:57 AM
Im trying to digi mod the UA-5 myself (desperation and a lack of funds vs a very tiny  board). Im confused about what to cut/scrape.

Do I scrape off the copper circles, or is there something slightly above them.  The picture looks like the trace is inbetween two of the copper circles is that right?  How hard should I scrape?  How likely is it to damage another trace?

Also can someone give me some sodering tips.  I tried to solder the wire, the board turned slightly gray I got freaked out wiped the gray off and stopped.  My friend said it was just part of the solder and not to worry.

At the end of the article the guy suggests having an electronic store do it for you.  What kind of places do this?  Any all help/advice would be appreciated.

I would assume any electronics component store would do it for you...  I avoid going into those places because of the know-it-all attitudes of all the electronics shops around here (BatteriesPlus is the WORST)...
