Title: Battery Meter for UA-5
Post by: blu666z on July 21, 2003, 01:57:43 PM
I looked for my old post to top but couldn't find it.

I would like to find somebody who knows how or would like to figure out a way to wire some kind of batery meter into the Shapiro battery cable for a UA-5.  I have a good idea how long it will run the UA-5 but not sure if I am running it down below the 80% I have seen recommended.

Rat Shack has some cheap battery meters you could wire in.  I have the dual RC (JShapiro method) and carry a small volt meter in my bag.  Becuase of the design you can connect a volt meter to the free battery conector. I've found that once the batteries drop below about 9.9 it's time to swap if running phantom power.
