Title: Larger Mic Trim Knobs for FR2-LE
Post by: fmaderjr on January 16, 2009, 02:30:27 PM
1) Get a pack of 2 Radio Shack Control Knobs (part #274-403) for $2.
2) Belt sand the bottoms of each knob so the plastic is sanded flush with the metal inserts. This is so the set screws will make contact with the FR2-LE's own knobs.
3) Belt sand the pointer on each knob down until it only sticks out a little bit from the knob. This is so the knobs won't interfere with each other when you turn them. I then used some white out on what was left of the pointers to replace the white I sanded off.
4) Turn the FR2-LE's mic trims fully counterclockwise (7:00) & attach the knobs to the FR2-LE with the set screws so that the pointers on the knobs point to 7:00.

The belt sanding only takes a minute or 2. No trouble at all if you have access to a belt sander.
