Title: Anker astro pro2 with edirol r44?
Post by: jhfinn on October 26, 2013, 12:36:52 PM
Hey now,

Just recently picked up an R44. I have a anker astro pro2 20000mah battery I bought to use with my tascam dr680. I used the tascam twice with this battery and had no problems but not sure if 12v is ok for the edirol.

Can I use this battery with the r44 if I get a battery cable made by tgakidis?
If not can anyone recommended a reliable battery that's currently available that can power this deck for 6+ hrs?

Regards,
Jim

R44 runs on 9-16v with a reverse polarity cable.

Semi-related.  I bought a Anker Astro usb battery for my Edirol R09HR.  5600 mah.

Coupled with one of Ted's usb/dc cables, I got over 12 hours and 20 minutes before the battery finally drained.

I highly recommend Anker for the Edirol R09HR.  Ths size and run times are perfect.

EDIT:  Swapped out my PNY 16GB card for a Centon 16GB card and got 15 + hours of run time.  Tested it twice to confirm.  For some reason, the Centon draws less power when writing than the PNY.  Centon is sold at Tigerdirect
