Title: Alternative to fan-favorite Photek foldable mic stand?
Post by: roffels on May 02, 2022, 11:20:14 AM: I've heard good things about this stand ( https://www.photekusa.com/product/photek-brellabox-brellabox-accessories-ls-8122/ ) but unfortunately is not being sold by any reputable dealer these days.

I'm hoping for something similar - takes up small foot print, ideally low circumference for the base stand as well.

Or has anyone played around with a DIY solution, using something like these smallrig rods? Maybe combined with a microphone stand baseplate? https://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-rod-pack-6-pcs-1659.html

I've taped a couple shows with a clamp but want something as a backup in case clamping is not an option.

Reverse leg stands like this work great, but usually 7' is the max. You can add a lightweight 1' extension and get to 8', which is plenty tall for most shows.

Contact Photek. They have parts, and were super helpful when I needed to repair mine.
