Title: Recording App with iphone 13
Post by: TVTaper on June 19, 2022, 04:20:30 AM
Hi,
can anybody help?
I'm looking for a recording app (iPhone 13) - I'm planing to use my phone to tape with CA14 + Battery and Rode Ai Interface.
Any experiences?
Thanks!

RØDE Recorder is simple and OK for 48/24 - and free.
If I recall correctly, the Shure Motiv app works with any mic, at least it did a few years ago - I use it only with my Shure MV88 so I can't comment on how it works with other mics - but it is free if you want to try.

One question: can you change/handle the gain with this app?

Thanks.
One question: can you change/handle the gain with this app?

Good question - I just checked.
The app has undergone some changes during the 4 years I have used it.
It seems like gain can be changed with "foreign" mics on my old iPhone 5S, but not with the latest version of the Motiv app running on my iPhone 8.

So the answer is probably that this app it is not for you - unless I am overlooking something obvious.

Sorry about the confusion.

These smartphone audio interfaces are often dependent on a manufactures app to access all settings on the interface - at least that is the case for both my Mv88 and AMBEO recording headset.
I imagine RØDE recommends something which I would try before considering other options.
