Kludge fix for H2 internals loud recording clipping
« on: July 10, 2008, 11:47:22 AM »
This seems rediculous but I stumbled on it & seems to work OK. Make an intensionally attenuating (Dense foam etc ) tight fitting wind cover/filter. Try recording loud rock band practice etc. that is causing clipping on peaks w L/100 setting. my experimental filter is made of old Sennheiser sealed earphone'd with the H2 mics sandwiched between :)  I get about 20 -30 dB fairly linear reduction and not surprizingly No Clipping :) the small High Freq non linear loss ~5dB was easily recovered in post. Go figr!
