^To me, nothings is as fat as an Aerco MP-2.  Nothing.
Old school MixPre with Jensen’s or Lundahl’s are the closest an SD unit would come IMO..
But nothing like an Aerco IMO.
I can’t imagine a new school MixPre is anything like an Aerco.

Super-cards > Aerco = absolute heat!!

I once had both an Aerco and V2 that had matching serial numbers.
That combo of pre’s was a dream.  Then I got rid of em..

I’m sure there are others, but an Oade 148 would be somewhat similar sounding IMO.
There is a Cooper in the YS that is heavy (in a good way) with transformers.

^ Yes, I love having access to both the Aerco and V2, which both interface easily with the D100. Also agreed on the supercardioids in the chain, but I have been real happy with cards, too. I didn't end up bringing the gear out the other night since I was just finally testing negative a few days before and still feeling low energy. They also had intermittent noise on one of the PAs throughout the night, which was unfortunate, but I am glad I didn't endure the frustrations of that being recorded. Great show though with John Kadlecik, Reed Mathis and others. They played an awesome cover of The Way It Is.

Here are a few of my most recent MG>Aerco>D100 sources. I was in close proximity to the stage for these and the sound is reflected as such. Sure wish I could get out more.

The Aerco thread mentions that Jerry passed, but I have no first hand info.

On "The Way It Is", I have Bruce's more recent interpretations of it, and it, as well as the new "Long Valley Road" are great listens.
Can kick down if anyone cares.

Saaaay...
Anybody want to let their V2 out of the closet for a season or so ?
Would buy it, and when selling would offer it back at cost with "right of first refusal" (1st dibs) ....

Currently working on a portable power solution for this:

They are OK with ganging two-together for portable use:

I may try it, if I can't get a V2 to play with.

I’ve finally gotten a chance to process the files and am quite pleased with the results. Especially using the ck63s on Sunday. I’ll post a link soon.
