Best Mixpre 6 Power Option?
« on: February 22, 2019, 10:50:10 AM »
I'm looking at getting a Mixpre 6 and am a bit overwhelmed by the power options available.  In most cases I'll be running 2 XLR's in (4 on occasion) with 48v Phantom power on, recording at 24bit/96kHz.

Are there any veteran Mixpre users out there that can tell me which power option provides the most reliability and longest runtime?

Thanks!

Sorry.  I searched beforehand but didn't find anything.  Can someone please point me in that direction?

I also have one of these as a backup: https://www.ebay.com/itm/HyperGear-USB-C-QC-2-0-Power-Bank-12000mAh-Portable-Battery/264183474090?epid=2038319004&hash=item3d828fe7aa:g:FnYAAOSwzFhcWxjn:sc:USPSFirstClass!44121!US!-1

It's only $20. That should run it for typical 2 set plus opener, no problem.

I have 2 of these and they are great!  When I first got them I tested at home and with 2 channels phantom I got about 8 hours.  I run 1 with 2 mics + sbd for 3-4 hours without issue and plenty of juice left.
