T+ for brian always quick on the draw.

Heh, yeah...I've been checking the site a lot as I'm on a transferring binge from the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival:  7 main stage sets and 5 workshop sets transferred the last day and a half or so.

Tomorrow I'm off to Rockygrass...woohoo!!

brian, have a great time at RG, say hello to john levene for me, jerry and trumble too, if they're there.  you may also meet paul rennix, taper from the front range.  are you planning to go to four corners on labor day?

Thanks, JR, I know I'll have a great time.  My plans have changed a bit, though - now flying instead of riding (m/c).  Oh, well.  I'll keep an eye and ear out for the guys you mention.  Won't be able swing Four Corners as Labor Day is a big family weekend for me, I'll likely be in Chicago.

Any tips on where to set up at Rockygrass?  I've heard running up front is a major PITA - just damn difficult to get in early enough to find a good spot.  Have been told there's an OTS set up near some relay stacks that's spacious, mellow, no rushing and crowding, etc.  Never stack taped before, though.

Still gonna try to run up front, I think - we'll see how it goes.  It was damn near impossible to run up front at Grey Fox, all the early arrivers staked out their territory waaaaaay early.

Oh, yes, Bryn Bright...seen her twice in the last 2 months.  Mmmmmmm....Bryn...  :D

Let's definitely hook up with a trade later.  Probably 1/3 of the GF sets turned out nice, 1/3 just okay, and 1/3...ugh.  Too bar back, too quiet a PA, too loud a crowd, too loud a generator.  Hopefully I'll fare better at Rockygrass.

You uploading any of your sets to Bluegrassbox?

having never been to Lyons, i can't help with the scene.  what i do know, is that it is so much smaller than TBF, that you should be able to deal fairly easily, especially if you hook up with any of the guys i mentioned.  kind of, 'once you're in, you're in'.  i'll make a couple of calls to see who's really gonna be there.  when do you leave.

I'm leaving about 2pm EST today.  Thanks for the names, JR, I'll ask around when I get there - hopefully I can hook up with some of those folks!
