ok if you want to talk social conscious when purchasing let's consider a few things:

Neumann used to supply microphones to the Nazis (you can tell this in old ww2 footage)
Most of our cables are made from earth raping core metals
Vacuum tubes do horrible environmental damage in their production
Many products sold by american companies are made overseas where the cost of labor is cheaper

I guess my point is, I understand socially conscious purchasing, and if that makes you feel better, go right ahead, but for me- I'm buying the highest quality for my money.
Quote from: Todd Snider
They say 3 percent of the people use 5 to 6 percent of their brain
97 percent use 3 percent and the rest goes down the drain
I'll never know which one I am but I'll bet you my last dime
99 percent think with 3 percent 100 percent of the time

exactly.
who wants to maintain a "global social consicious" ?

Our president, George W. Bush  :(

    , uh wait.....   :'(

I guess my point is it is only money, and feeding the people that oppress us should at least be a consideration.
China filters the Internet, enslaves people, and is aggressively totalitarian in the name of "Communism"
They have limited their expansionism only under strong world pressure.

My next amp is definitely a Manley or CJ, if it takes three years to save for it  (and it just might).

true..
but i'm interested in the sound, not the politics.  if slave labor makes a great sounding inexpenesive tube amp...I want it in my living room, and they can float it here on the tears of underage girls who whore by night and solder by day.

If you are ever down to the DC area, you are welcome to an audition of my CJ rig.

i love my modded jolida. made in china, and held in very high regard...

as for the politics, and politically motivated purchasing... i dont think it makes any difference to the bottom line, but it might make some sleep better at night...

those kind of economic responses work from a top down approach (embargos and the like), but i dont see how the individual efforts make any difference at all (again, excepting the way you feel in your own conscience)

fwiw - i bought the modded jolida from the guy that modded it, not from jolida  :-\

apparently the 302/502 are only different by 4 resistors and the output tubes.
Is the "a" series handwired or does it use a Printed Circuit Board ?
