can someone give me an idea of how you ziptied your ua5 to a walmart rack or whatever?
i have a rack and was going to zip it on but the longest ones i can find are 14" and will not make it around the unit to hold it in place
the rack i have can be seen in the bag here http://taperssection.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=51656.0;attach=21410;image
any ideas on the best way to do it, thanks

Connect 2 zipties together? End of one into end of another = one long ziptie?

Connect 2 zipties together?
that's what i was gonna say. but you might even need more than 2.

FYI, try to put the squre connector on the corners. It helps clean it up.

thanks guys

Will - Do you still have all of the velcro pads for your bag? If so, you may want to try the v3 target cage and make a little area in the back for your ua-5. The link I used is here:

Did pretty much the same thing. If you want me to, I can take pictures of my rack. Let me know if that helps.

yes i was going to try that but had a hard time finding a rack besides the one i got
the v3 rack in the pics linked was what i wanted to do though i liked that idea
i prob will have to just do the multi zip tie unles i can find the bigger rack

I suport my ua-5 with wooden stilts gaffers taped to the sides, but if I were using the shelving, I'd cable tie the two pieces of shelving horizontally right under the back of the ua-5, so the ties hold the ua-5 up and the cage together.

Have you tried Target? Where did you buy the one you have? Not sure if Target still have this brand, though it may be worth it to look.
-
fwiw, they have extremely long zip ties at home depot... 30"+ and they are BEEFY. however, the 2 (or more) zip ties hooked up together is a much more economically approach.
-
I couldn't find longer ties at my home depot. I just got the 12 or 14 inch ones and connected two for the width of the unit, then shaved off the excess.
-
thats exactly what I did connect two 14" together and attach it to a small wire frame shelf

thanks guys
yes i looked at walmart and target
after i last checked here last night i did a cut job to the rack i have, it was kinda a pain but it works even better now at holding the ua5
basically i cut the side like in the v3 thread and bent it up so there is a shelf for the back/bottom to rest on, leaving holes for cables to plug in fine
now i am sure 2 zips together will work perfectly
i'll try and post a pic later for those that might end up with the same rack

I actually ziptied mine in twice, then had to cut them to get at something a couple times. Now I just use a cuple of those small bungee cords. That way if I ever have to get at something I can just unhook it.
