Tascam 112mk2 Issue
« on: July 19, 2008, 09:41:40 PM »
I'm transferring cassettes on a Tascam 112 mk2. The output levels are adjustable, so I can't seem to figure out how where to set my outputs so that the final transfers match the levels on the tape exactly. It's a bit strange considering my retired, shed-ridden Sanyo POS only puts out the levels read from the tape.

Thanks for any help?

I am no expert, but does it matter?  You can always normalize in post, no?

The tape I'm transferring is clipped and I'd like to show that in the wav file, if possible.

normalizing in post will just push everything to the max volume of the wav file.... thus adjusting the volume to the 0db level of the highest point of the recording
