skil saw

yeah, i thought of that.

i took the screws out, but all that did was expose the motherboard and hard drive.

i need to figure this out, b/c i need to know whether i need a new battery or not.

but thats what you get when you buy a laptop for real cheap.    its gonna have some serious upgrading to it.

I had my power supply jam into my lappy a week or so ago. took it to computer services at school and they had to take off the screen and the keyboard in addition to all of the screws that go around the bottom and sides.

after all that we saw that the poer supply was hardwired to the motherboard so the whole motherboard had to be replaced.

the tech guys at school recommended against trying to solder to the motherboard, they said it was pretty tough and you could potentially fry everything.

good luck!

is the plug broken? if not, then yes, you will need to replace the whole logic board. if its just the plug that broke, that can be fixed easily provided you can find a plug with the same pin-out(not quite as easy as you think).

I repair laptops at work...I may be able to help you get the plug you need if that is what is needed
