Title: Windows Help Needed
Post by: RRobar on December 10, 2003, 08:09:16 PM
Well, my home desktop had started to run like crap and I started getting the "Blue Screen". Well I saved all I needed and started upon reformating the HD win a clean XPpro install. I had xp home on it proir but since I have this XP pro disc I was going to run that. ANyway, I goto boot from the Disc with setting the bios to boot from there. It starts the process and then it throws up another "BLSOD" (Thats Blue Screen of Death for folks like Moke) that says

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Then it just shuts down. I'm going to search of the Microsoft database at some point but I was wondering if anyone here has seen this and how can I remedy it. I simply want to do a complete reformat. Seems simple enough. I had wondered if the HD was failing. But Before I go get a new HD, is this the culprit? I was going to get a new much bigger (it's a 40 GB right now) HD soon so it's no huge deal if thats the case. Plus I have grown very fond of my mac g4 desktop at work ;D.

Thanks simp,
I'll look into that tonight. I wonder how the hell that happened. I suspect my 3 year old son was clicking around when he was playing games. But who knows.
