Title: Disassemble 711 Binder Connector
Post by: crunchy on October 14, 2022, 02:20:17 PM
Anyone know how to disassemble a 711 Binder connector that is terminated already? Just trying to look at the solder points to see if I want to tackle making my own cables. The silver ring just spins. Do I need a special tool for this? It almost looks like the interior black connectors might screw together, but it’s hard to tell. Google has not been helpful for any video of assembling this type of connector.

This is the connector.    https://www.binder-usa.com/us-en/products/subminiature-circular-connectors/m9-ip40/99-0095-100-05-m9-ip40-male-cable-connector-contacts-5-30-40-mm-unshielded-solder-ip40 (https://www.binder-usa.com/us-en/products/subminiature-circular-connectors/m9-ip40/99-0095-100-05-m9-ip40-male-cable-connector-contacts-5-30-40-mm-unshielded-solder-ip40)

At the bottom of that page is lists a mounting key. Guessing that might be the tool I need?

For anyone curious, after looking a little more closely there are two small tabs you have to push in to release the silver screw ring. Then you can disassemble.
