Any one have any DIY speaker recs? Looking at less than 500 if possible.

Wayne J's Dayton III speaker is held in high regard.  I'm actually building a set now (have had the wood cut for weeks)...

Not really sure. I don;t have the equipment to build hte boxes so I am looking for something I can buy the boxes for. The main goal is to save on the cost. I was hoping for the $200-300 range. I suspect that is in hte realm of book shelf

less than you said.  I was thinkin of getting a pair of these, got some Bday cash, might have too.  and at $139 can't beat it.  check em out.

I own a pair, they sound like they cost several hundred dollars more.  Search audioreview.com I believe they have reviews of the BR-1!!

The PeaCreek I mentioned above is a project design specifically around pre-made cabinents available for purchase through Parts Express...  They sound very good from what I've heard.
