i almost went partially this route... i already have an extra 3/8 > 5/8... in the end, i just got hosed: 7.95 for the adapter, 8.25 to ship  >:(

i dont even want to link the site...  :'(

do you care if it is permanent?
if not go to radioshack and get on of these....

if the link dont work its Catalog # is 33-372

just epoxy the metal male 5/8 sleeve to the top of your mic stand. make sure you put tape around the threads when you are epoxying.

i need the top of the stand to have 5/8 male threads so i can screw on the at8410a.

thanks... but i found a 1/4 > 3/8 bogen adapter at a camera shop locally and then just used the extra 3/8 > 5/8 adapter that i had.

problem solved.
