My Terretec EWX 2496 Control Panel Settings
« on: December 05, 2003, 10:31:43 PM »
I was wondering if you all could help me with the settings for my recently installed ewx 2496.  I am attempting to convert my MD masters out of a Sony MXD-D400 > optical cable > ewx 2496 > Cool Edit Pro.

1. which do I want:  the internal digital clock or the external?

2. what are the digital in level controls for?  I'm assuming just leave them where they are at? (they're at -9db I think)

3. Is it a good idea to mute all of the analog ins?

4. Anything other settings that I should consider for bit for bit transfers?

thanks in advance.  :)

never used the ewx, but you want the external clock set...

the level knobs usually control output - this should be moot to the recording (would affect only monitoring) but I could be wrong...

when recording via digital in, you don't set levels - you push play on the dat, push record in your wav editor, and let the thing write a long WAV file...

muting all extra sources can eliminate noise...

I hope this helps...
