help on selecting the right soundcard
« on: December 20, 2003, 10:09:30 PM »
I am trying to get my computer setup to transfer my m1>.wav then edit.
is Delta Dio 2496 the best to use for this?
Also, i am interested in a soundcard that has the I/O's on the front of the computer(easy-access)
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated  :)

well, if ya want to go in the front of the comp, you might have to go usb.......i happen to have an edirol ua-1d soundcard im selling.....it has an optical I/O, and a coax I/O, both digital of course.....these are proven to be NOT bit-perfect, but, its a start :)ill let it go for 30bux :Dend seller mode>>>

also, what software are you running into(wavelab, soundforge, samplitude)???

Im using D8 > Delta Dio 2496 > Sound Forge 6.0
with no problems.

the I/O are in the back though.

the sound blaster audigy soundcards have drives in the front 5.25" bays but they are not bit-perfect.

I've done some recent research and haven't seen any that will fit in one of those bays.

as for external USB cards, the ESI (ego-sys) U24 and M-audio Audiophile USb are both viable options.

For standard PCI cards, your options are many.  Audiophile 2496, Delta DIO 2496, Echo MIA MIDI, ESI waverterminal 2496 are all widely used and accepted.

many other options can be found on this page
