Looks like it would fit the bill for what I need.

The other night I was taping Drivin N Cryin at a local performance center and I was invited to tape right next to the soundboard. They had a weighted stand that I was able to use instead of the big-ass 13' Manfrotto that I brought. It worked, but as you can see in the photo below, I was stuck at about 5' height.

The tape turned out well, I'm still working on it, but as you can imagine, I picked up a lot of chatter. The venue was super welcoming and would like to work with me again going forward. As such I am looking for a better stand option.

The stand linked above goes up to 5.2', which if you include the height of the cabinet it would be attached to, would put me up to about 8 feet or so. I'd like to be a bit higher up, but I am having trouble finding exactly what I want.

I've also been looking at this stand base: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1191679-REG/impact_backlight_stand_with_5_8.html

If I could get that Impact stand and an extension pole that would get me some height and I can use with my superclamp, then that is what I would prefer.

You can go with an option like this:
https://www.amazon.com/ALZO-Extension-Inches-Thread-Screw/dp/B009OMPVQI/ref=asc_df_B009OMPVQI/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=241898902709&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8399448223744856260&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1027221&hvtargid=pla-570031160360&psc=1

But a 16" extension at the top of a 6'stand seems risky and too easy to break and fall off if the stand near the ground is kicked or something.

I bought a 7' reverse leg stand a few years ago and added this collapsible extension for times I want to get the mics up to 8':

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554044-REG/Manfrotto_259B_259B_Extension_Column_for.html

It packs easily being 6" collapsed and extends out to 10" and is really strong and light weight so it doesn't feel like it creates a weak point where it joins to the stand at all.

Good Luck!!!

I've also been looking at this stand base: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1191679-REG/impact_backlight_stand_with_5_8.html

I have been using the Manfrotto model of that base (003) with a Manfrotto 099B. Works pretty well and gets up above 7.5 feet. You can add a Manfrotto 122B to get it up to about 10 feet. Both poles work great with a SuperClamp. Probably a good idea to bring some gaffer's tape to tape the feet down for added security, though.

+1 to all of this. I often use that same setup and it is solid.

I'd really like an 099b, but it is out of stock everywhere.

Did you post an ISO in the YS here?

The extension pole in your image may be a subwoofer extension pole.  Great work, taper!

I use https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/33185-REG/Matthews_429499_Telescopic_Baby_Stand_Extension.html.

Attaches to my stands/clamps easily.  5/5 would recommend to a friend.

This pole held my 4 channel set-up, D.Oldham's Schoeps actives, and C.Miller's 460s without a sneeze this past weekend.

I did not post an ISO in the yard sale. I was in a time crunch...

I ordered a Matthews Baby Stand Extension and that Inkeltech light stand. I also picked up a 95" Lowel Uni-To Light Stand for another show I'm doing Friday where I want a little less footprint than my big ass Manfrotto. I should be covered for all contingencies now.
