ORTF / DIN type bar for nBOB actives?
« on: January 05, 2023, 10:26:01 AM »
Hi,

Recently got a baby Nbox with active capsule cable. I notice the diameter coming out of the back of the capsule holder is narrower and will not hold the capsules like a bar designed by the microphone manufacturer.

Are there 3rd party options out there that will hold the capsules snugly, without needing tape or velcro?

Thanks for any input!

Most folks use SRS Recording Services mounts. If you don't see what you want, reach out to Scott and see if he'll create what you need. He has created most standard mounts for most of the nbob actives.

thanks for this. Do all Nick active cables have the same exit diameter, whether it's Schoeps, Neumann, AKG, etc...?

Scott has worked with all the various flavors of Nick cables/collettes. He will know the diameter and length of most of them. I would start there. There are different mounts for different mic capsules. Browse the site first to see if there is already a mount created for what you need. They are labeled by microphone manufacturer.
