Either zip ties or some of those big-ass velcro cable straps are also good ways to secure a stand in between seats. The velcro straps are reusable too...and no sticky adhesive mess to worry about on your stand. I don't know how well they'd work for LD mics, but they work great for some lowpro action.

Damn!  I never thought of velcro.  Good one!  As for duct tape and gaffer's...i'll buy a roll of each just to have on hand, never know if i'll need to tape down a hooligan or two if they try to fuck with the stand.    :D

Finally got off my ass and ordered the Bogen 3373 from B&H.  I imagine i will need adapters to go with this stand for the audix 1290's?  Have any recommendations?  Thanks again guys!

you will need to go from 1/4" to 5/8"

I use two seperate ones a 1/4" to 3/8" that i got 2 of on ebay for .99. then the 3/8" to 5/8"that came with my shockmounts.  Its a good idea to grab a few as they are oh so tiny and tend to get lost.

I imagine i will need adapters to go with this [3373] stand for the audix 1290's? Have any recommendations?

you will need to go from 1/4" to 5/8"

Not necessarily.  The 3373 has historically shipped with either a 1/4" male thread, or a 5/8" male stud.  Mine is the latter.  Best to wait til you get your stand, confirm which tip you have, and then get the appropriate adapters.  Check the Archive | Mics & Setup forum for a thread on mic stands that includes the appropriate adapters.
