mini-me gain jumpers: Anyone changed theirs?
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:53:10 PM »
I've been using this box for about a year and just recently became interested in switching the internal jumpers into the "low gain" position.

Any thoughts/experiences would be helpful-

Very simple to do and highly recommend it.  The first mme I had (on my second, regret selling my first) the jumper were set on high.  Way fob at loud, bass heavy shows had my rig just about clipping (thank goodness for the soft limiter).  Download the pdf online from apogee.  It shows you what to do.  Just unscrew the 4 screws fronta and back.  The case slides right off. The jumpers are small but you can use your fingers (or pliers) to pull em out and move them back.  Make sure you are grounded though, don't want to discharge any static elecrticity on that board.

Good Luck!

To add:  Ran stage lip last week for Dubconcious, peaking on low gain with the soft limiter engaged.  I would have been screwed if I had it set to high gain.

To add 2x:  Nice sig, my old 2 channel rig  ;D  Made some killer recordings.  The mme pairs extremely well with the beyers.
