I think damn near everyone in the state of AL is/was running that combo, and for good reason.

The two were made for each other!

I love the combo. Like Lee said they were made for each other.

Now If I can just get my configurations down I'll have it going on.
Listening to my tapes on a decent playback system now. I can tell I'm doing something wrong. When running DIN my left side is consistently lacking something compared to the right channel. When I set the balance to the right a little & crank it up it sounds so much better.

Any suggestions? Maybe I'll try the 90deg cutout pattern that I've seen some people use.

Listen to my 7/18/03 tapes and tell me which way I had my configuration pointed ;)

so you're saying saying if i have a w-mod UA5 and want to upgrade mics i should go team AKG with the 480s :smoking:?

EDIT: I dunno Team ADK TL is looking nice though. what about km184s>w-mod?

'bout time you got around to it!

Seriously, you need a damn bombsight with those DIN hypers to make sure you get 'em pointed dead center.  Maybe I should've taken it easy in the lot.  Live and learn, I guess.

I have a friend that runs 480->warm mod UA5. Sounds sick everytime.  He makes killer tapes with that combo.

I ran 184s with the wua5 for a little while and the 480s combo blew them out of the water. Drop me a line and i could shoot you some comparisons.

my adk's sound a lot better with the wmod ua-5 than they did with the mp-2 -> ad500e.  plus it is a lot less gear to lug around.

Less gear to lug is a good thing, no doubt.  Especially if it allows you to carry one less battery!
