windows 98 help

looking for a free media program to down load to open and play some HD's.  i up graded the window's media player for 98,  but not liking it much.  it does not work like my pc w/ xp.  any nhelp would be great.  ed

You might try VLC.

For Win98 you will need to download the .dll and .lib files mentioned on the right hand side of the page.
These are downloaded directly from Microsoft.
