Topic: Who needs an editing challenge?

I made a total dumbass move and I need to fix about 70 seconds of the start of a show.  What needs to be done is beyond my post-processing skill level so I'm hoping someone can volunteer to fix it for me.

I started out with levels too high and used the balance knob instead of the gain knob to make the adjustment.  I usually start the show with balance depressed into the 722 and gain level sticking out so I can dial both channels down smoothly without fumbling for the knobs.  But I had the wrong knob up so when the meters pegged I started dialing down and it took a few seconds for me to see that I was not reducing gain but balancing way towards the left side.  So both channels need to be edited seperately. 

The gain envelope looks like this:

I have samplitude but I can't figure out how to make a gain envelope to do what I want.  I guess I could chop each segment into discrete objects and apply gain or fades as needed but I'm not sure how to smooth the places where they join.  Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

If you go the chop and mod route, I find I can join them seamlessly and easily with no perceptible indication of a join.  Just hit that "+" sign until the WAV file is spread out to tiny waves for each segment.  Then bring them together until they kiss.  Done!

Enable the volume envelope tool on the track by clicking on the button that says "Vol". This is draw volume mode.

At this point everywhere where you click it will create a new volume anchor.

Then click on the "universal mode" button. Pressing the mouse button on the anchor points and dragging will move the anchor points to different positions.

You can zoom in and set the volume levels so that the graphics look about right.
(You will get the hang of it once you work with it a bit.)

If you need to set the overall object volume higher for a certain section click on the object then press "T" to split the object at the current cursor position. Then set a higher volume in the object editor and use the volume curve tool to fine tune it.
