Title: Any advice for using a Nikon Coolpix P80?
Post by: vanark on February 16, 2009, 08:33:31 PM
My wife picked up a Nikon Coolpix P80 around the holidays as a step up from the lower end point and shoot.  I know little or nothing.  Anyone want to give some pointers on settings for live concert shots without a flash?  It will probably be greek to me, but I'm sure my wife will understand it better.   ;D

I figure she can start with ISO 400, 1/125 shutter speed and and aperture of 4.0 or 4.5.  Start bracketing around that and see if she can figure out the best for the situation and camera.  Good starting spots?

Someone has recommended ISO 800, use aperture priority with a setting of f/2.8 and let the camera decide the shutter speed.  I guess if it uses less then 1/60, I can manually set the shutter speed as well.
