Title: R44 power connector source
Post by: frogger on April 07, 2010, 08:01:53 PM
I'm trying to build a power connector for my R44 to the "wally world" batteries.  I know the connector I need is 5.5 mm OD x 2.1 mm but does anybody have a part number and source?  I know I can buy it at Radio Shack but it sucks trying to solder that one.  I'd prefer the right angle connector if I can get that one.  TIA.

You need the adapt-a-plug "m" and the adaptaplug socket if you want to avoid soldering and use electrical tape.  You also need to reverse the polarity.  You can hack the existing DVD cable or buy a "b" plug and another socket.  It can get expensive at $7 per plug and $5 for each socket.  There is a dual socket for around $10.

I went this route and built myself a Y-cable by hacking 2 existing DVD cables and the adaptaplug m but was wondering about just getting decent quality ends from somebody like Markertek.

Thanks,
Chuck

I love my double cable from Ted. Hot-swapping, or running two batteries, plus having some aa's in the chamber makes me fell pretty confident.
