Title: Using Marantz PMD-671 line ins.....
Post by: achabloop5080 on December 14, 2010, 05:42:36 PM
Hi guys,
I need to record some classical live concerts (piano, chamber and baroque orchestral) using multiple mics...
I have Neumann KM183, Schoeps CMC5 mk21, mk2s and mk4 pairs and I'd like to mix them directly to 2-tracks on the fly using my Mackie 1604 vlz pro (used in this case also as a multi mic preamp)...
I plan to go from Mackie tape outs (rca unbalanced) to my Marantz PMD-671 line ins (rca unbalanced)....
Any problems running unbalanced rca cables (hiss, interferences, saturation etc.) quality wise? And how you consider Marantz AD sonically?
Or should I consider a dedicated 2 channel AD converter (Mytek or Benchmark or Apogee) and go to Marantz recorder through s/pdif?
Thank you

Thank you sygdwm for your reply,
may I ask you if you use Marantz 671 mic pres or analog rca ins to enter the a/d converters?
